Our Mooting Workshop was held on the 15th of December 2018 from 1:00pm to 5:30 pm at the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC).
Three speakers were present in order to provide you with a general overview of mooting and tips on written and oral advocacy, in the hopes of improving your advocacy skills, research skills, confidence and critical thinking
We had Dato’ Mah Weng Kwai, a former judge in the Court of Appeal who provided us with tips in formulating arguments, Ms Irene Mira, an International Case Counsel from AIAC who is also an avid mooter who participated in the Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot giving us with some advice in understanding the facts and issues of a moot problem and Ms Chelsea Pollard, an International Case Counsel from AIAC who provided us with some tips in Memorial Research and Writing.
Thank you for those who attended the Mooting Workshop. We hope that the event was beneficial and that our participants managed to gain better understanding and insight into mooting.
We would also like to express our gratitude to AIAC and our three speakers: Ms Chelsea Pollard, Ms Irene Mira and Dato’ Mah Weng Kwai for imparting their knowledge to us by giving us some insightful ideas in regards to mooting.
