The United Kingdom & Eire Malaysian Law Students’ Union or Kesatuan Penuntut Undang-Undang Malaysia di UK dan Eire (KPUM) was established in 1979 making it an umbrella body for all Malaysians studying law in the UK for over 30 years. Our reach extends to over 1500 students across 30 different universities including BPTC providers.
KPUM serves not only as a platform for students to meet potential employers and future colleagues but also aims to provide students with opportunities that will stimulate intellectual curiosity and knowledge about Malaysia’s local legal scene. Moreover, it is the Union’s core mission to further the protection of human rights by upholding the rule of law through its various programmes, projects and initiatives.
Through the various projects and initiatives carried out throughout the year, we seek to provide our working committee with the platform to grow and learn by taking ownership of their respective portfolios; in line with our vision to empower future lawyers.
The Malaysian Bar Council has also continuously shown tremendous interest and support for the Union. Moreover, we are proud to have had His Royal Highness the late Sultan Azlan Shah, the Sultan of Perak and former Lord President, head of the Malaysian Judiciary, as our Royal Patron for the past 15 years.
