Educational excursions do not only broaden one’s horizon but aid students in gaining practical out-of-classroom knowledge. Acknowledging its significance, KPUM is proud to host its annual Lawatan Edisi Malaysia.
This year, KPUM is hosting visits to both the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Legal Division that enables student to understand more about the governmental sector and their policy making mechanisms, which may be a new avenue for your future careers.
Both the ministries have their respective legal advisory units.
The Legal Advisory Unit in the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development is tasked with responsibilities to draft and review legal documents and legislation that falls within the purview of the ministry to protect rights of women, families and the communities fairly without discrimination.
The Legal Advisory Unit in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the other hand provides legal advice to all Ministries and Malaysian Missions overseas on international matters. The legal team also drafts legal documents like agreements, treaties, conventions and external affairs legislation.
